You’ll begin your salon training in the early phases of this 12-month diploma program.* Our student salon, known as The Remington College School of Cosmetology, can accommodate up to 30 students at a time.
Two instructors oversee students during salon hours, and about 40 customers can be serviced in the salon at once. It’s a great working environment to learn in! You’ll take turns in roles like receptionist, hairstylist, manicurist, and make-up artist. Services that you may provide while you work the beauty, hair, and salon school floor include facials, manicures, acrylic and gel nails, haircuts, waves, relaxers, extensions, and more!
You’ll also get to work with recognized product brands like Matrix®, Design Essentials®, Burmax Cuccio®, Andis®, Helen of Troy®, and OFRA® Cosmetics.
Career destinations include, but are not limited to, the following:
Open the door to our Mobile Campus, and you’ll see a reception area that is bright, inviting, and friendly. Our staff and faculty are accessible throughout your training with us, even after you graduate. And the best doors we can help you open are those that may lead to a new career.* We’ve been helping folks do that since we opened our own doors as the very first “Southeast College of Technology” in July 1986.
The Cosmetology Diploma Program provides training in various phases of cosmetology, including manicures, pedicures, facials, and wig care.
The objective of this Program is to prepare graduates for entry-level positions as cosmetologists in work locations such as licensed beauty salons, day spas, or nail salons.
Cosmetologists often work on their feet in salons and spas, and evening and weekend hours are common. A cosmetology school can give you the classroom and hands-on experience you need to earn a license and begin your beautician career.
Cosmetologists are required to successfully complete a designated amount of hours of education as prescribed by their state. It may also help if prospective cosmetologists are artistic, detail oriented, and personable. An interest in fashion may also help cosmetologists stay in touch with trends and changing client needs.
